Kairos (English trip)
At the end of term one my form attended kairos. We all left on a bus on Thursday morning at 8:50. Everybody was super excited and i had the speaker all charged up for the journey to maynooth. When we arrived we were given a tour of the sound and technical room and of course the set its self. We were told we had to create a 10-15min tv programme or news/weather report. We had to decide among a group what roles everybody wanted.
I was a presenter which ment I had to act out. I especially loved my part in our tv programme and I feel I have gained a lot of confidence from it. It was left to us to sort out our lines and stage positioning. It was great fun working with everyone and having freedom to do what we wanted.
Our tv programme was called “Families less Fortunate” it was a game show where two families answered questions. I had such a laugh doing it . After we had a few rehearsals we went for lunch in the dining hall before we got stuck into the actual recordings.
I learnt so many new things from kairos such as cooperation skills, communication skills between everybody who was behind the set and bonding. Every activity we did that day in Kairos I felt that we merged closer as a form group.
