3 PEAKS CHALLENGE
On Friday the 4th of May I participated the 3 peaks challenge which was a total of 17km. We were dropped by the bus at 10:30 at the bottom of the sugarloaf. We also brought our camino bags with us just to get a feel of what it will be like in June. It was a great day for a walk the sun was shining and it was 18 degrees. The start of the walk was very difficult because it was all uphill. But when we got to the shoulder of the Sugar loaf it began to get easier.
We then walked to Kilmacanoge and stoped for a nice ice cream. After that we went up the hills again and ended up looking over grey-stones and then entered Bray head. The views were spectacular and it was great to turn up the speaker and have a laugh with everybody. I forgot how long the walk was when we were all chatting. Downhill was a challenge because there were so many rocks and you had to keep your head down the whole time in case you stepped on the wrong rock. It was great to do the 3 peaks because it got me prepared for the Camino. It was a great oppountunity as a year to be able to do a walk like this and for the teachers to take the time out of classes to take us. I really enjoyed it and it made me think how lucky I am to be able to participate in all the activities associated with TY this year.
